Weddings in Mauritius take place Monday to Friday only (excluding public holidays). Very Ocassionally we can arrange a Saturday wedding if all other days are full.
One thing to think about , if the bride-to-be has been divorced in the last 10 months, she will need a Mauritian doctor's certificate of non-pregnancy.
For the Flight
Your Wedding dress is part of your luggage allowance, We recommend that you have your wedding dress professionally boxed and marked Wedding Dress if your wedding outfits are going into the hold of the plane. If you intend to take the dress on board with you, remember it will be part of your on board allowance.
Whilst you are in Mauritius
We only deal with Hotels that commit to a One Wedding per Day policy to provide you with maximum assistance on your big day. Once you have arrived at your hotel and checked in, usually you will have a message from your wedding coordinator to arrange an early meeting. They will help you throughout the wedding’s preparation, and provide you with personalised help from the choice of the venue, to assistance with official formalities.
Venue is a key-element, especially for the wedding pictures you want to take back home with you.
Weddings generally take place late afternoon 15:00-16:00 as it is a cooler time of the day. The light is also better for photographs, and you can take advantage of sunsets.
Two witnesses will be needed and your wedding coordinator will happily provide these if necessary.
Subject to availability, a room will be available for the groom to change in, for all the last-minute arrangements, for your guests, bridesmaids or the bride to be!
The wedding coordinator will organise a photographer if needed, help you choose your flowers, buttonholes etc, book live musicians (or you may bring your own CD), and run through all beauty treatments and hairdressing available.
For your reception, your coordinator will advise of Table layouts, themed evenings and dinners on the beach, on a private yacht, or any multitude of options, they are there to make sure your day is the most memorable one.
Once you've said 'I do' in Mauritius, your wedding certificate is valid under British law and you will not need to register your marriage on your return.
Sounds easy, it can be if you are dealing with specialists for weddings in Mauritius.
