The InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort is located on one of the most pristine stretches of beach overlooking the Bay of Balaclava. Offering 210 well-appointed rooms, the resort is just a few metres from Baie aux Tortues, which 17th-century sailors named after the many tortoises in the area. A trip to the Central Market of Port Louis reveals handmade crafts and cuisine representing the different cultures and ethnicities of Mauritius, including Creole, Indian, Chinese and Muslim. This newly opened resort hotel offers a unique and contemporary design that combines an array of leisure facilities and high level service, making it one of the finest resorts for a family vacation, or wedding and honeymoon.
The hotel is located just north of the capital, a 15-minute drive from the clubs and sights of Grand Baie and 50 minutes from Plaisance International Airport.

This new hotel is focussed on offering top class service and an array of resort facilities. There are a wonderful variety of restaurants and bars dotted about the resort, suitable for everything from casual afternoon drinks to romantic fine dining in the evening.

The hotel's facilities include a dedicated boat house and dive centre and a 30-metre jetty, which offers a fantastic array of water sports, from scuba diving and deep-sea fishing to kayaks and pedal boats.On shore, the hotel facilities include a fully equipped, supervised gym, a 600 m³ two-tier infinity swimming pool, tennis courts,an infirmary, and a shopping arcade. Cars, scooters and bicycles are all available to rent. Golf can be arranged at any of the island’s courses, and concierge is always on-hand to point you to authentic and exciting places to eat, relax and have fun.
